This Privacy Statement explains how Boring Forge (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and handles personal data in connection with Snap The Wed (the “Platform”).
1. Scope
This Privacy Statement applies to personal data collected through the Platform from Event Organizers, couples, guests, and visitors.
2. Data We Collect
We may collect and process the following categories of data:
For Event Organizers or couples: name and email address obtained through Google login.
For guests: photos and other content uploaded through a private event link.
For users or visitors generally: technical, device, log, and usage data collected through cookies or similar technologies, including login-related cookies and analytics tools.
For paid features, if offered: transaction-related information reasonably necessary to process the purchase, record the transaction, respond to support issues, and handle fraud prevention or compliance.
3. How We Use Data
We use personal data to:
provide and operate the Platform;
authenticate users and maintain account sessions;
enable photo uploads, slideshow viewing, and optional paid features;
process transactions and provide customer support;
maintain security, prevent misuse, and troubleshoot issues;
measure and improve Platform performance and user experience; and
comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
4. Guest Notice and Organizer Role
Guests may use certain event pages without creating an account or completing a separate acceptance checkbox. Where this Privacy Statement is made available on or near the relevant upload or viewing flow, a guest’s use of the event page or upload function constitutes acknowledgment of this Privacy Statement to the extent permitted by applicable law.
The Event Organizer is responsible for sharing private links with intended participants and for communications with invited guests about the event. Where applicable, the Event Organizer is also responsible for providing notices or obtaining permissions or consents from invited participants or persons whose images are knowingly submitted by the Event Organizer.
5. Photos and User Content
Photos uploaded to the Platform may contain personal data, including images of identifiable individuals. By uploading content, the uploader confirms that they have the right to upload it and share it through the Platform.
We do not make uploaded photos publicly searchable. Access is intended to be limited through private links or authenticated access controls provided by the Platform.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for login functionality, session management, security, and analytics. This may include the use of Google Tag Manager and a cookie consent mechanism made available on the Platform.
Where required, non-essential cookies or tags are subject to user choice through the cookie consent tools provided on the Platform.
7. Hosting and Service Providers
The Platform is hosted using Amazon Web Services in the Hong Kong region. We may also use third-party service providers to support login, analytics, payments, hosting, security, and related technical operations.
These providers may process personal data on our behalf only to the extent reasonably necessary for their services, subject to their own terms and applicable legal requirements.
8. Disclosure of Data
We do not sell personal data. We may disclose personal data:
to service providers supporting the Platform;
where necessary to complete a transaction requested by you;
where required by law, regulation, court order, or lawful request from authorities; or
where reasonably necessary to protect our rights, users, systems, services, or the public.
9. Storage and Retention
Uploaded photos are stored for service operation and support purposes for up to one year from the date of upload, after which they are intended to be permanently deleted in the ordinary course of operation.
Account-related information, transaction records, basic logs, and limited support records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements.
10. International Access
The Platform is operated from Hong Kong and is primarily intended for users connected to Hong Kong wedding events. If you access the Platform from another jurisdiction, you understand that your data may be processed in Hong Kong or in other locations used by our service providers.
11. Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data that we hold. You may also contact us to make inquiries about our privacy practices.
13. Children
The Platform is not specifically directed to children. If you believe personal data relating to a child has been uploaded or provided improperly, please contact us so we can review the matter.
14. Changes to This Statement
We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when posted on the Platform, unless otherwise stated.
